:: FURT ESTANCIA
The trip to the Furt Estancia is a very special activity that we organize for our students, ideal for all students to come, along with some Professors and members of our staff.
The Los Talas Estancia (a.k.a. Furt Estancia), has a library with more than 40 thousand books of one of Argentina´s most impressive bibliophilic collections. It was organized from the second half of the 19th Century and, for decades, was run by Joge Furt, a passionate collector. It is located 20 km from Luján, and was founded in 1824. The estancia keeps medieval codices from the 13th Century, incunables, unique editions and thousands of books published before 1800. Among other relics, the library also houses the Juan Bautista Alberdi Archive, composed of 7500 letters, some manuscripts and other documents of incalculable historical value. The library is often visited by scholars of Argentine, European and U. S. Universities.
